Dr. Tom McCoy is a third-generation educator with three decades of experience in K-12 schools and has served as a high school teacher and coach, high school assistant principal, 12 years as a high school principal, as a Director for court and community schools with the Ventura County Office of Education, and most recently for 5 years as Assistant Superintendent Educational Services for Oxnard Union High School District

On July 1, 2020, Tom began serving Oxnard Union High School District as Superintendent, where he is grateful to work with an educational community that has a heart for kids and believes in the full potential of ALL students.

Tom believes that each student should know their true capacity and believe in their gifts and abilities. To create an enriching environment for students, schools must create a culture of collaboration, listen attentively to students and families, and understand the experience, knowledge, and culture students bring with them to school.
