The revisions to the draft 2023 Math Framework create an opportunity for school district and county office of education leaders to ensure that its implementation centers the needs of English learners (ELs). The workshop will provide an overview of the EL-focused language within the Framework and recommended actions to support equitable implementation. There will be a focus on the need for quality instructional materials for ELs, including research on current access, and examples of how districts can establish a robust adoption process. Education leaders will leave the session with a better understanding of the Framework, recommended actions, and tools to support equitable implementation, including on establishing a materials adoption process that centers the needs of ELs and multilingual students.
