Scale up your district's justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts with a co-designed action plan with continuous improvement for antiracism. In this session, a district’s journey will be shared, along with resources, tools and examples to support educators building capacity for change agency with youth and educational partners. Methods include school culture and climate data analysis with the local control and accountability (LCAP) process, YPAR, and continuous improvement protocols. Explore the interruption of white dominant culture with anti-racist leadership for liberation, justice, and joy. Engage in professional sharing in reference to a district’s case study implementing a justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion plan aligned to the LCAP and reflecting the local community and youth organizing. Take-away tools and resources will be provided (grant opportunities, surveys, empathy interviews, root cause analysis, liberatory design, restorative practices, ethnic studies, civic engagement, and educational partner networks) for teachers and administrators to apply. They will examine efforts to achieve equity and targeted universalism in schools, scale the dismantling of systemic oppression with antiracism, and build collective capacity with youth civic engagement and community organizing for social justice with schools as hubs of the community. Educators will increase their competencies to teach and lead as change agents centering BIPOC youth, and benefitting all members of a school community.
